SARGODHA, Nov 04 (APP):In line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, 31 government schools in Sargodha have been equipped with modern computers and fashion design kits, setting a new benchmark for innovation and transparency in education.
According to an official spokesperson on Tuesday, the initiative has been launched under the Matric-Tech Program, following special directives from Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat.
In the first phase of the project, 31 government schools in Sargodha are receiving state-of-the-art computer labs and fashion design kits. Each lab will be equipped with at least fifteen computers, ensuring equal access to practical learning opportunities for all students.
Schools introducing the Matric-Tech program in Fashion Design classes are being provided with comprehensive fashion design kits. These kits include sewing machines, fabric swatches, drawing and designing tools, irons, ironing tables, magnifying glasses, seam rippers, and poster colors.
The entire project is being carried out in accordance with the Punjab Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) Rules 2014 through the E-Procurement System (E-PADS) to ensure transparency, quality, and accountability.
A total of Rs. 85 million has been allocated for the purchase of computers and fashion kits, all procured via the e-bidding process to minimize human intervention and enhance transparency.
Kalsoom Minsha, Chief Executive Officer (Education) Sargodha, emphasized that this project is a practical realization of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s and the Education Minister’s vision. She added that the provision of advanced equipment would foster digital literacy and technical skills among students, enabling them to contribute to building a skilled and self-reliant Punjab.
“This initiative is a clear demonstration of the Punjab government’s commitment to transparent governance, modern education, and technological advancement,” she said. “Sargodha’s students will now have access to digital knowledge and practical expertise, preparing them to meet the educational and professional demands of the future.”
