PESHAWAR, Sep 27 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Wednesday conducted inspections in Peshawar, Malakand and Dir Upper and confiscated 300kg rotten fish, 80 liters adulterated milk and 250kg substandard honey.
According to the spokesman of Food authority, a safety team of the authority visited Board Bazar here and found more than 300 kg of rotten fish from a fish sale point and discarded it on the spot.
In another surprise visit to the posh area of Hayatabad, the team found and discarded 80 liters of adulterated and chemically prepared milk.
In Dir Upper the team of Food authority recovered and destroyed 250 kg of fake and substandard honey from the godown while the meat of dead animals was recovered from a vehicle being supplied to butchers shop in Batkhela area of district Malakand.
Heavy fines were imposed on the accused and further legal action was initiated under Food Safety Act.
