FAISALABAD, Nov 01 (APP): The Environment Protection Department (EPD) has sealed three barbecue outlets in Faisalabad on charges of polluting the environment and contributing to smog.
Deputy Director Environment, Usman Azhar, said that environment teams carried out inspections across the city and sealed three barbecue points — Butt Karahi, Jalandhar Fish, and Khyber Restaurant — located on Susan Road. The action was taken for causing environmental pollution and failing to install suction hoods in accordance with environmental safety regulations.
He said that these shopkeepers had already been issued warning notices but failed to take corrective measures. The department, he added, is enforcing a zero-tolerance policy against violations of anti-smog laws.
Usman Azhar emphasized that strict legal action will continue against all those found flouting environmental protection measures, as public health and clean air remain among the top priorities of the government.
