MULTAN, Oct 15 (APP):Around 260 brick kilns were shifted to environment-friendly zigzag technology in Bahawalpur district as part of ongoing efforts to curb smog.
A meeting of Anti-Smog Committee was held with Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) at Deputy Commissioner’s office here to review current measures being taken to reduce environmental pollution and smog in the region.
The meeting was informed that inspections had been carried out across the district, confirming the successful transition of 260 brick kilns out of total 298 to the cleaner technology. Additionally, enforcement actions have been taken against industrial units and vehicles found to be contributing to environmental pollution.
