LAHORE, Nov 11 (APP):Punjab Police have registered 26 cases against air pollution and arrested several violators from various districts, including Lahore, during the anti-smog crackdown over the past 24 hours
A spokesperson for police said that during the operations, fines amounting to more than Rs. 1.055 million were imposed on 464 individuals, while warnings were issued to 87 others. Violations included 52 cases of crop residue burning, 145 cases involving vehicles emitting excessive smoke, five cases related to industrial activities, and 12 violations by brick kilns.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, directed the concerned officers to further intensify the anti-smog crackdown on highways, industrial areas, agricultural lands, and other locations.
