LAHORE, Jul 04 (APP):Twenty one people were killed and 1,561 others injured in 1,342 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours, according to a report, issued by the Punjab Emergency Service (PES), commonly known as Rescue-1122, here on Friday.
As many as 651 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 910 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 831 drivers, 74 underage drivers, 191 pedestrians and 560 passengers were among the victims of road crashes. The statistics show that 244 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 301 people, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 87 accidents and 93 victims, and at third Multan with 74 accidents and 80 victims.
According to the data, 1,258 motorbikes, 77 auto-rickshaws, 143 motorcars, 13 vans, 13 passenger buses, 44 trucks and 112 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
