FAISALABAD, Mar 01 (APP):Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar said that transparent and swift distribution of “Ramadan Nigehban Cards” among deserving families is underway in Faisalabad while financial assistance of Rs.10,000 each was disbursed to 204,721 families so far under this program across the division.
He said that the initiative aims to facilitate low-income households during the holy month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak by ensuring direct financial support through a transparent mechanism.
He said that total target of 308,532 families has been set across the division for the distribution of Ramadan Nigehban Cards in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz.
He said that the administration has accelerated efforts to ensure timely and doorstep delivery of Nigehban cards to eligible beneficiaries.
He said that in district Faisalabad, out of 147,201 registered deserving families, 92,457 have so far received the cards. In district Jhang, 52,219 out of 77,084 families have been covered while in district Toba Tek Singh, 31,326 out of 46,107 families have received the assistance.
Similarly, in district Chiniot, 28,719 out of 38,140 deserving families have been provided Ramadan Nigehban Cards, he added.
The divisional commissioner said that distribution process is being carried out with complete transparency and strict monitoring to ensure that financial assistance reaches the rightful beneficiaries without delay or discrimination.
He said that the initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to social welfare and poverty alleviation particularly during the sacred month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak when household expenses typically increase.
He said that special teams have been constituted to oversee the distribution process and address any complaints promptly. The administration is also ensuring that no deserving family is left out and the remaining beneficiaries receive their cards at the earliest, he added.
