2 officials held in bribery sting in Lodhran

LODHRAN, Dec 27 (APP): Two government employees were arrested during a successful anti-corruption raid for accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a citizen, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) reported.
The raid was conducted under the special directions of Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatha, and led by Regional Director Multan Basharat Nabi.
Patwari Sabir Hussain and Shahzad, a Special Education Department employee accused of acting as a tout for patwaris, were arrested after being caught red-handed receiving the bribe. The operation was supervised by Circle Officer Ali Hassan Gilani and took place in the presence of a First Class Magistrate in Lodhran.
According to ACE officials, the suspects were facilitating an illegal land division transaction and demanding the bribe in exchange for their services. The bribe money was recovered during the operation, which was carried out as part of ongoing efforts to combat corruption in the region.
Legal proceedings against the arrested officials are underway.
