MUZAFFARGARH, Oct 15 (APP):In a joint operation, the Special Branch and the Livestock Department Kot Addu seized and discarded 2.5 maunds of unhygienic meat that was being supplied to a local hotel. The suppliers were fined for their involvement in the illegal activity.
According to Special Branch sources, two individuals, Saddam and Ijaz Hussain, had been supplying substandard and hazardous meat to hotels in the Pathan Hotel area for the past two years.
During the operation, the confiscated meat was immediately disposed of on-site to prevent public health risks.
Deputy Director Livestock Kot Addu stated that in his entire service career, he had never witnessed meat in such a deplorable and unsafe condition. The accused were fined Rs. 12,000 for violating food safety and public health regulations.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to continuing strict action against those involved in the sale and supply of unhygienic or substandard food items.
