SUKKUR, Jul 17 (APP):Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) on Thursday distributed 100 Community Investment Fund (CIF) tokens, worth Rs. 2,321,000, as interest-free loans to low-income households for income-generating activities under the People’s Poverty Reduction Program (PPRP), funded by the Sindh Government.
A special CIF distribution ceremony was held at Village Organization (VO) Bhatyani, Union Council Hamzo Khan Datt, Taluka, district Sanghar.
The 100 women beneficiaries, belonging to 15 Community Organizations (COs), received CIF tokens to invest in various income-generating activities, including livestock rearing, tailoring and other skilled work, agriculture, and kiryana (grocery) shops.
This revolving fund intervention not only strengthens household livelihoods but also promotes self-reliance and financial inclusion to poor households in rural areas. Despite prevailing socio-economic challenges, the community’s active participation and growing awareness toward increasing household assets and resources are highly encouraging.
The program is part of the Sindh government’s efforts to alleviate poverty and promote economic empowerment among rural women. The SRSO’s initiative has been instrumental in providing financial support to marginalized communities, enabling them to improve their livelihoods and become self-sufficient.
