ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP):The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration have stated that 19 new dengue cases were reported in the federal capital — 10 from rural areas and 9 from urban zones.
During the last 24 hours report, at present, 27 patients are under treatment at various hospitals, while several others have recovered and returned home.
The report highlights that the district administration’s anti-dengue campaign remains active throughout the city. Under the ongoing operation, 433 houses were sprayed, and 1,876 identified hotspots were treated with fogging. Moreover, surveillance teams conducted inspections at 27,921 locations to trace mosquito breeding sites.
During these inspections, larvae were detected at 101 sites, and none were declared free of breeding risk. The administration stated that the presence of larvae at multiple locations underscores the need for sustained preventive measures.
District officials have directed field teams to continue fumigation and surveillance activities without interruption.
The administration further warned that strict legal action will be taken against institutions and individuals failing to comply with anti-dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Continuous surveillance is being carried out to ensure adherence to preventive protocols in residential, commercial, and public spaces.
A dedicated control room has been set up to register and address public complaints related to dengue. The control room staff is on duty round the clock to ensure prompt redressal of citizens’ concerns and coordination with field teams.
Officials urged citizens to play an active role in the anti-dengue campaign by keeping their surroundings clean and reporting any potential breeding sites to the authorities. The administration stressed that community participation is vital to completely eliminate the mosquito-borne disease.
Meanwhile, health teams are working in coordination with local departments to ensure that fogging, spraying, and inspection operations reach every identified hotspot. Special attention is being given to high-risk areas, including construction sites, water storage spots, and densely populated neighborhoods where larvae are frequently found.
The district administration also stated that dengue surveillance data is being updated daily to monitor trends and plan timely interventions. Regular field visits by health officers ensure that preventive measures are properly implemented and that response teams remain alert.
Public awareness campaigns are also underway to educate citizens about preventive practices such as removing standing water, covering water containers, and maintaining hygiene in residential and commercial areas.
Reaffirming its commitment, the administration emphasized that sustained cooperation between the government and residents is the key to keeping the city dengue-free.
