18 lawbreakers behind bars; drugs and weapons recovered

ISLAMABAD, Nov 24 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 18 lawbreakers during an ongoing crackdown across the federal capital aimed at curbing crime and safeguarding citizens’ lives and property.

An official told APP on Monday that police teams from Margalla, Tarnol, Khanna, Sihala, Nilore, Bhara Kahu and Shahzad Town police stations arrested 14 accused and recovered 30 grams of ice, 11 pistols and two rifles with ammunition from their possession. He added that cases have been registered against the arrested suspects and further investigation is underway.

He said that, as part of the same campaign, four proclaimed offenders and absconders were also arrested — bringing the total number of arrests to 18.

SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza stated that ICT Police are working round the clock to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property. “No one will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the city,” he said, adding that public safety remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
