LAHORE, Aug 08 (APP):At least 18 persons were killed and 1,323 injured in 1,189 Road Traffic Crashes (RTCs) in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.
Out of these, 579 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 744 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by Rescue Medical Teams thus reducing the burden of hospitals.
Furthermore, the analysis showed that 707 drivers, 43 underage drivers, 160 pedestrians, and 474 passengers were among the victims of road traffic crashes. The statistics showed that 254 RTCs were reported in Lahore which affected 289 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by Multan 93 with 97 victims and at third Faisalabad with 88 RTCs and 101 victims.
According to the data 1116 motorbikes, 63 auto-rickshaws, 101 motorcars, 26 vans, 11 passenger buses, 33 truck and 106 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in these road traffic accidents.
P
