170 Lahore government schools fail to meet enrollment targets
LAHORE, Sep 26 (APP):As many as 170 government schools in Lahore have failed to meet their enrollment targets,prompting the School Education Department (SED) to issue a final warning to the heads of the institutions.
According to SED officials here on Saturday,the school heads have been directed to achieve the prescribed enrollment targets by October 31,failing which strict action would be taken against them.
Government High School Kot Khawaja Saeed has a shortfall of 277 students while Government Girls High School Jallo Mor was short of 217 enrollments,officials said.
Government Girls High School Mughalpura,Government Girls High School Lakhodair,Government Kinnaird Girls High School (Empress Road) and Government Girls High School Gulshan Park were also among the institutions that have failed to meet their enrollment targets.
Similarly,Government Girls High School Ghorey Shah,Government Girls High School Governor House, Government Girls High School Ghaziabad, Government Girls High School Garhi Shahu and Government High School Nisbat Road were included in the list.
Government schools in Batapur,Maraka Quarters,Ladhkay Oochay and Chung Multan Road were also among those facing enrollment shortfalls,the officials added.
