LAHORE, Jan 10 (APP):At least 17 people were killed and 1,462 others injured in 1,379 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
As many as 652 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 810 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 808 drivers, 68 underage drivers, 169 pedestrians, and 502 passengers were among the victims of road crashes.
The statistics showed that 252 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 260 people, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 105 accidents and 104 victims and at third Gujranwala with 76 accidents and 82 victims.
According to the data, 1,207 motorbikes, 87 auto-rickshaws, 161 motorcars, 31 vans, 11 passenger buses, 50 trucks and 135 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
