BAHAWALPUR, Jul 16 (APP):Around 1,650 police personnel and 1,606 volunteers have been deployed to provide security in and around imambargahs and on the routes of processions in Bahawalpur on the 9th of Moharram-Ul-Haram.
A spokesman for Bahawalpur police said here on Tuesday that under the security plan approved by the higher authorities for the provision of security in and around imambargahs and on the routes of processions, around 1,650 police personnel and 1,606 volunteers had been deployed there in Bahawalpur district on 9th of Moharram-Ul-Haram.
He said that a total 77 majalis would be held and 30 processions would be taken out in all tehsils of Bahawalpur district on the 9th of Moharram-Ul-Haram.
He said that the police personnel deployed for security duty on the 9th of Moharram-Ul-Haram included the district police, Dolphin Force, Special Branch, Elite Force, and others.
He added that CCTV cameras drone cameras, jamers, and walk-through gates were also being used in and around imambargahs and on the routes of the processions.
