LAHORE, Jul 29 (APP):Lahore Police have intensified their crackdown against violations of the Tenancy Act, arresting 163 individuals and registering 92 cases during the month of July.
A spokesperson for the Lahore Police said on Tuesday that a total of 2,007 suspects have been arrested so far in 2025 for non-compliance with the Tenancy Act, with 1,153 FIRs lodged across various police stations in the city.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore, Bilal Siddique Kamyana, reaffirmed that the operation against unregistered tenants and negligent property owners would continue. He underlined that registering tenants through the Police Tenant Registration System was a joint responsibility of both landlords and tenants.
The CCPO said that the registration system plays a vital role in tightening the noose around proclaimed offenders. He directed station house officers (SHOs) to ensure complete compliance by landlords within their respective jurisdictions, using the police mobile application “Tenant Registration.”
He added that police were utilising advanced software and digital tools to monitor and apprehend criminal elements more effectively, and noted that tenant registration had significantly improved police documentation of both tenants and private employees.
Kamyana urged citizens to act responsibly and ensure timely registration with the police, stating that such measures are essential for strengthening law and order in the provincial capital.
