ISLAMABAD, Oct 29 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Wednesday arrested 16 criminals, including drug peddlers and illegal arms holders, during an effective crackdown across the federal capital to ensure citizens’ safety by curbing crime and apprehending criminal elements.
An official told APP on Wednesday that police teams from Golra, Sangjani, Sihala, Humak, Lohi Bher and Nilore police stations arrested 10 accused and recovered 2,895 grams of heroin, 330 grams of hashish, 555 grams of ice, and four pistols with ammunition from their possession.
He added that cases have been registered against the nabbed accused, and further investigations are underway.
Additionally, during a special campaign to apprehend absconders and proclaimed offenders, six more criminals were also arrested, bringing the total to 16.
SSP Operation/Investigation Muhammad Usman Butt stated that Islamabad Police are continuously working to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property in the federal capital.
“No one will be allowed to disrupt the peace of the city,” he said, adding that the safety and security of citizens remain the top priority of Islamabad Police.
He urged the public to immediately report any suspicious activity to the relevant police station or via the emergency helpline Pucar-15, so that—through mutual cooperation between the police and the community—the city can be made crime-free.
