16 drug peddlers netted with 20 kg charras, 1 kg heroin

RAWALPINDI, Jul 25 (APP): Rawalpindi district police in an action against suspected drug peddlers conducted raids in different areas and arrested 16 accused including three women besides recovering 20 kg charras, one kg heroin, 120 grams Ice and other items from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that Taxila police held an accused namely Ayub and recovered 1012 grams heroin and 120 grams Ice.
R.A.Bazar police rounded up Naila Bibi with 2200 grams charras, Nasreen with 2100 grams charras and third accused namely Shazia for having 800 grams charras.
Three other accused namely Zeeshan, Naveed and Qadeer were sent behind the bars for possessing 4400 grams charras.
Murree police netted Muhammad Abbas for having 1550 grams charras, Toseef with 1250 grams charras and Afaq for possessing 1620 grams charras. Toseef was arrested for having two pistols 30 bore and a rifle.
Similarly, Pagwari, Kahuta, New Town, Rawat, Cantt police arrested Sohail, Jahanzaib, Amjad, Hazar Khan, Ghulam Shabbir, and Ajmal were rounded up on recovery of total 6340 grams charras.
Separate cases have been registered against all the accused while further investigations are underway.
City Police Officer, Rawalpindi had directed the police officers to accelerate ongoing operations against drug peddlers, bootleggers and other lawbreakers, he added.
