FAISALABAD, Nov 05 (APP):At least 16 candidates will contest in a by-election in National Assembly constituency NA-96, Faisalabad-II on November 23.
Electoral symbols have been allotted to all the candidates.
According to details, 15 candidates were contesting as independent while Muhammad Bilal Badar is the only candidate who will contest in the election on PML-N ticket.
The independent candidates are Arshad Mahmood, Rae Ijaz Hussain, Rae Zargham Shahid Hussain, Rae Waqas Aslam, Asifullah Shah Bukhari, Iqbal Awan, Azra Parveen, Irfan Shahid Waseer, Muhammad Ashraf Chaudhry, Muhammad Asim Afzal, Muhammad Amir Hafeez Khokhar, Mahmood Ahmed, Nazak Ali, Nawab sher, and Waqas Shahzad.
The polling will be held on November 23 (Sunday) from 8am to 6pm.
Municipal Committee Jaranwala will be the main election control point and a list of polling stations has been displayed at the website of the election commission.
The total number of registered voters is 587,124 including 172,991 women voters. At least 345 voters have been excluded from voter lists while 98 new voters have been added.
As many as 345 polling stations including 125 for men and 122 for women while 98 joints will be set up. The number of polling booths will be 1,057 including 560 for men and 497 for women.
Rauf Ahmed will be Returning Officer for NA-96 while Orangzeb Goraya and Noor ul Hassan will be Assistant Returning Officers.
