BAHAWALPUR, Jul 16 (APP):On the occasion of Ashura day, around 142 processions will be taken out in all six tehsils of Bahawalpur district.
Police and other sources told APP that 142 processions will be taken out in tehsil Bahawalpur City, tehsil Bahawalpur Sadar, tehsil Khairpur Tamewali, tehsil Hasilpur, tehsil Yazman and tehsil Ahmadpur East, respectively. “Six of 142 Ashura processions come under category A, five under category B and 131 under category C,” they said.
A spokesman for Bahawalpur police said here that a procession of category A will be taken out in Uch Sharif area as well as a majlis of category A will be held in Noshahra Jadid area. He added that three majalis came under category B would be held in Head Rajkan, Hasilpur and Anaiyti areas, respectively.
They further said that around 110 majalis will be held in Bahawalpur district on the occasion of Ashura day, adding that one of them came under category A, three under category B and 106 under category C.
The police sources said that around 2,500 police personnel and 1,600 volunteers will perform security duty in and around imambargahs and on the routes of processions on Ashura day in Bahawalpur district.
