14 officers of LG suspended over failing to provide audit records to PAC

KARACHI, Oct 20 (APP): As many as fourteen officers of Local Councils under the Sindh Local Government Department have been suspended for failing to provide audit records to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Sindh Assembly.
The Local Government (LG) Department, with the approval of the Provincial Minister, has issued a notification suspending 14 officers from various Local Councils and has also issued them show-cause notices, in light of PAC directives, a communique said on Monday.
Those suspended for not submitting audit records to the PAC included Anis-ur-Rehman Sial, Municipal Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Mirpurkhas; Mumtaz Ali Channa, Town Municipal Commissioner of Mirpurkhas; and Saeed Ahmed Brohi, Chief Municipal Officer of Municipal Committee Mithi.
Other suspended officers from Local Councils included Taxation Officer of Jhuddo Izzat Hussain Mangi; Town Officer Imtiaz Ali Rahputo of Town Committees Islamkot and Chelhar; and Zulfiqar Ali Kehar, Town Officer of Town Committee Khokhrapar.
The list of suspended Town Officers also included Kashif Theem, Sanaullah Abro, Dilawar Mangrio, and Zahid Ali Narejo.
Karachi: Among the suspended officers are also Town Officers Shamsheer Ali Shah, Parvez Ali Bhutto, Amir Ali Soomro, and Farhan Ali Leghari.
Show-cause notices have also been issued to the 14 officers suspended for not providing records to the PAC and for negligence.
PAC Chairman Nisar Khuhro said that failure to provide audit records falls under negligence.
He said, “Action will be taken against officers who fail to provide audit records related to audit paras.”
