RAWALPINDI, Jul 26 (APP): Rawalpindi district police in an action against suspected drug peddlers conducted raids in different areas and arrested 14 accused besides recovering 19 kg charras and other items from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that Gujar Khan police held Farhad on recovery of 2200 grams charras.
Pirwadhai police netted Ziaullah for having 1650 grams charras, Owais with 1520 grams charras and Tayyab for possessing 1478 grams charras.
Rattaamral police rounded up Gohar with 1600 grams charras and Arif for having 1360 grams charras.
Rawat, Jatli, Kahuta, R.A.Bazar, Westridge, Kotli, Waris Khan and Chakri police arrested Asif, Nadeem, Abid, Ali, Qadir, Imdad, Shahrom and Nadeem and recovered total 9580 grams charras.
Separate cases have been registered against all the accused while further investigations are underway.
City Police Officer, Rawalpindi had directed the police officers to accelerate ongoing operations against drug peddlers, bootleggers and other lawbreakers, he added.
