13 killed in Punjab road accidents

LAHORE, Aug 16 (APP): At least 13 people were killed and 1,356 others injured in 1,236 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours.
As many 611 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 745 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 704 drivers, 33 underage drivers, 132 pedestrians, and 481 passengers were among the victims of road crashes. The statistics showed that 284 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 319 people, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 84 accidents and 74 victims, and at third Gujranwala with 72 accidents and 70 victims.
According to the data, 58 motorbikes, 58 auto-rickshaws, 113 motorcars, 24 vans, 10 passenger buses, 26 truck and 87 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
