117,185 registered for Ramazan Negahban Cards, 66,090 delivered in Rawalpindi Division

RAWALPINDI, Feb 25 (APP): As many as 117,185 deserving people have been registered for the Ramazan Negahban Card across Rawalpindi Division, of which 66,090 cards have been received and 56,152 delivered to beneficiaries so far, a review meeting was told on Wednesday.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Engineer Aamir Khattak chaired the meeting to review the distribution of the Ramazan Negahban Cards and directed that every registered beneficiary under the Socio-Economic Registry must receive the card without delay or discrimination.
He said no delay in card distribution would be tolerated in any district and warned that illegal deductions while withdrawing cash through the card would not be allowed. He directed that strict legal action be taken against those involved and instructed retailers to ensure full payment to beneficiaries.
The meeting was informed that under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, transparent distribution of the Negahban Cards was under way and the process was being continuously monitored.
According to the briefing, 39,882 individuals were registered in Rawalpindi District, of whom 17,879 had received cards. In Attock District, 28,250 people were registered and 15,781 had received cards, while in Jhelum District, 13,475 cards had been delivered out of 20,256 registered beneficiaries. In Chakwal District, 10,922 cards had been delivered to 23,752 registered individuals, and in Murree District, 3,539 cards had been distributed among 5,045 registered beneficiaries.
The meeting, held at the Commissioner Office, was attended by Additional Commissioner (Coordination) Zainia Humayun, Director Development Syed Nazarat Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Dr Hassan, Assistant Commissioner (General) Talha and Director Health Dr Ejaz, while deputy commissioners of Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal and Murree participated via video link.
