1,124 Dengue cases reported in last 24 hrs across Sindh

KARACHI, Nov 07 (APP): The Sindh Health Department on Friday issued an updated report on confirmed dengue cases across the province, stating that a total of 5,393 dengue tests were conducted during the last 24 hours, out of which 1,124 were found positive.
According to the report, 4,001 tests were carried out in Karachi Division, with 589 cases confirmed, while in Hyderabad Division 1,392 tests were conducted and 535 came back positive.
Sindh Health Secretary Rehan Baloch said that 111 new dengue patients were admitted to government hospitals during the last 24 hours, whereas 101 new admissions were recorded in private healthcare facilities.
Meanwhile, 97 patients recovered and were discharged from public hospitals and 99 from private hospitals.
No dengue-related death was reported across the province during the same period.
Currently, 244 dengue patients are admitted in government hospitals and 205 in private hospitals across Sindh.
For dengue treatment, 256 beds have been allocated in Karachi’s public sector hospitals, 165 in Hyderabad, and 566 across the rest of Sindh — making a total of 987 beds available in the government sector.
In private hospitals, 200 beds have been designated in Karachi, 208 in Hyderabad, and 66 elsewhere in the province — a total of 474 beds.
The Health Department is presently receiving data from 52 laboratories across the province. In Karachi, 34 laboratories — including 12 public and 22 private — are conducting dengue testing, while 18 laboratories are functional in Hyderabad Division, comprising 7 government and 11 private labs.
