11 new dengue cases reported in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, Nov 10 (APP):The District Health Authority (DHA) Rawalpindi reported 11 new confirmed dengue cases during the last 24 hours, totalling 1,488 cases during the year so far.
A a robust vector control campaign has screened over 22,000 patients and destroyed more than 238,000 mosquito larvae samples.
According to the latest statistical brief from DHA, hospitals across the district have screened 22,417 suspected cases  with only 27 patients currently admitted for treatment. The brief shows no deaths in the district’s so far which is a positive sign as the post-monsoon season.
The health department attributed the controlled spread of dengue fever to an extensive surveillance effort by 1,361 dedicated teams. These teams have inspected a staggering 6,407,020 households, identifying larvae in 209,469 of them. Additionally, 1,871,987 potential breeding spots were checked, with 28,828 testing positive. In total, 238,297 larvae were eradicated.
On the enforcement front, the authorities have lodged 4,817 FIRs, sealed 1,934 properties, issued 3,717 challans, and imposed fines totaling Rs. 11,416,007.
