LAHORE, Feb 23 (APP):Eleven people were killed and 1,450 others injured in 1,201 road accidents in Punjab during the last 24 hours, according to a report, issued by the Punjab Emergency Service (PES), commonly known as Rescue-1122, here on Monday.
As many as 665 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals, while 785 with minor injuries were treated at the incident site by the rescue medical teams.
The data analysis showed that 814 drivers, 66 underage drivers, 148 pedestrians and 499 passengers were among the victims of road crashes.
The statistics showed that 232 accidents were reported in Lahore, which affected 291, placing the provincial capital at top of the list, followed by Faisalabad with 98 accidents and 110 victims, and at third Multan with 91 accidents and 100 victims.
According to the data, 1,262 motorcycles, 91 rickshaws, 145 cars, 31 vans, nine passenger buses, 47 trucks and 66 other types of vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
