RAWALPINDI, Oct 08 (APP):Police arrested eleven gamblers and recovered bet money of Rs 35,000 and 05 mobile phones from their possession here on Sunday.
According to a police spokesman, Sadiqabad police conducted a raid and apprehended 11 gamblers identified as Muhammad Rafiq, Shaukat Ali, Ismail Khan, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Shehriyar, Gul Sher, Haris Waheed, Kashif Ali, Muhammad Sultan, Asad Shah, and Muhammad Irfan.
Police have registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation was in progress.
SP Rawal Faisal Salim appreciated the performance of the Police team stating that gambling is the root of other crimes.
He warned that those involved in such crimes cannot escape the grasp of the law and affirmed that the crackdown on gamblers will be continued without any discrimination.
