10th Jeep rally begins with pomp and show in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH, Nov 06 (APP):The four-day 10th Jeep rally began here on Thursday after completion of all arrangements under the joint venture of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) and the district administration.
The thrilling event will be held across the desert fields of Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, and Layyah, where racers from across the country and abroad will compete to prove their mettle.
According to the schedule issued by the district government, the registration process along with technical and medical inspections started at 9:00 a.m. and continued until 3:00 p.m.
The qualifying round would set to take place on November 7 at Head Muhammad Wala Chhaga Manga. The stock category race will be held on November 8, while the modified vehicle and women’s category competitions will take place on Sunday (November 9). The event will conclude with a grand closing ceremony at Faisal Stadium.
Police finalized comprehensive security arrangements for the rally. Around 400 police officials, including three DSPs and 11 inspectors, will perform duties throughout the event. Search operations have been carried out along the rally routes to ensure safety.
DPO Ghazanfar Ali Shah assured that strict security measures have been put in place and law and order will be maintained during all activities of the rally.
Meanwhile, a local holiday has been declared on November 8 (Saturday) in Layyah district. The district administration also announced free transportation for visitors attending the cultural event.
Assistant Commissioner Haris Hameed said the same facility would be extended at the end of the rally to help visitors return home conveniently.
