1,014 Laptops Distributed at SALU Under PM Youth Laptop Scheme Phase IV

SUKKUR, Feb 24 (APP):Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) on Tuesday distributed 1,014 laptops to meritorious students under the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme (Phase IV). The ceremony, held at the Students Society Centre, awarded laptops to BS, MS, MPhil, and PhD students selected on pure merit from the 2021–2025 academic sessions.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Yousuf Khushk called the initiative a “national strategy to empower youth,” praising the Government of Pakistan and HEC for ensuring transparency. He urged students to use the devices for research, online learning, and innovation, not just entertainment.
Focal Person Dr. Amjad Mughal said Phase IV will distribute 100,000 laptops nationwide, with SALU receiving a larger share. Senior faculty, deans, and university officials attended the event, which highlighted the scheme’s role in bridging the digital divide and promoting skill based education.
