RAWALPINDI, Jul 23 (APP):A 10-year-old domestic worker who was allegedly subjected to torture at a house in Rawalpindi’s Sadiqabad area was rescued by police, while the alleged abuser was arrested in a swift operation launched on the directions of City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera.
The CPO has taken immediate notice of reports of abuse involving the minor and directed Sadiqabad Police to rescue the child and arrest the suspect without delay.
Acting swiftly on the orders, police recovered the child safely and took the accused into custody.
According to preliminary investigations, the child is a resident of Okara and had been working as a domestic servant at the suspect’s residence for the past three months. Police said a case is being registered at Sadiqabad Police Station, while further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said violence against children and women would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to protect vulnerable members of society and directed investigators to ensure the case is pursued on merit. He added that the suspect would be prosecuted in accordance with the law and every effort would be made to ensure the accused is brought to justice.
