Pakistan issues visas to over 2,800 Indian pilgrims for Baisakhi celebrations

NEW DELHI, Apr 7 (APP): Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued over 2,800 visas to the Indian pilgrims for their participation in the annual Baisakhi festival to be held in Pakistan from April 10-19, 2026.
The pilgrims would, inter alia, visit Gurdwara Panja Sahib, Gurdwara Nankana Sahib and Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib, according to the high commission’s press release received Tuesday.
Extending his warm felicitations on the occasion, Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires to India Saad Ahmad Warraich wished the pilgrims a fulfilling and spiritually rewarding stay in Pakistan.
He underscored that their visit was an affirmation of Pakistan’s abiding commitment to promote interreligious and intercultural harmony and understanding.
As a proud custodian of numerous places of worship, Pakistan will continue to advance universal ideals of tolerance, goodwill and mutual respect, Warraich added.
The visit is covered under the framework of the Bilateral Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, 1974.
