ISLAMABAD, Oct 08 (APP): Ambassador of Pakistan Faraz Zaidi, Wednesday, presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic at a dignified ceremony held at the Palace of Serbia in Belgrade.

Upon arrival, the ambassador inspected the guard of honour and formally handed over his Letters of Credence and the Letters of Recall of his predecessor to the president, a press release said.

President Vucic extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Zaidi and conveyed his best wishes for a successful tenure.

He expressed Serbia’s readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations with Pakistan in diverse areas, including trade, education, labour mobility, and defence cooperation.

Ambassador Zaidi conveyed warm greetings from the leadership and people of Pakistan and expressed gratitude to the Serbian authorities for their support and facilitation during his assumption of duties.

He reaffirmed his commitment to work closely with the government of Serbia to broaden the bilateral cooperation.

The ambassador noted that the existing level of trade between the two countries remained below potential and identified opportunities for growth in textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and IT services.

Ambassador Zaidi further conveyed Pakistan’s desire to see the reopening of the Embassy of Serbia in Islamabad, which would contribute to deepening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
