SYDNEY, Oct 21 (APP): Minister for Energy Ali Pervaiz Malik on Tuesday addressed the International Mining and Resources Conference here, wherein he highlighted Pakistan’s vast mineral potential and its commitment to a low-carbon and resilient future.

The minister, who arrived here on Monday to attend the event, in his keynote address on “Pakistan’s Energy Transition and Critical Minerals Development: Unlocking New Frontiers for Global Partnership” told the gathering that Pakistan contributed less than one percent to global emissions, yet faced some of the harshest climate challenges.

Ali Malik also apprised the gathering of Pakistan’s renewable energy targets, investment incentives, and potential reserves of critical minerals.

Being held here from October 21-23, the International Mining and Resources Conference and Expo brings together influential mining industry leaders for a world-class program and an exhibition of over 500 global solution providers showcasing cutting-edge technology and services to drive innovation and productivity across the entire mining value chain.

The event attracts attendees from over 120 countries, with 50 nations represented at a government or ministerial level.

Meanwhile, the minister also met Director General (Minerals), Government of Western Australia, who briefed him about the role of the mining sector in the Australian economy.

The minister invited the Australian companies to invest in Pakistan’s mining sector.
