Painting competition highlights women’s role in society
RAWALPINDI, May 14 (APP):The Punjab Council of the Arts, Rawalpindi organized a painting competition titled “Hum Maain, Hum Behnain, Hum Betiyan” among students of schools, colleges and universities to highlight the role and importance of women in society.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture Punjab, Shazia Rizwan, attended the closing ceremony of the event as chief guest and appreciated the participants, saying such activities help promote creativity among youth. She said the government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, was taking steps for women’s empowerment.
Cash prizes of Rs.50,000.0 Rs.30,000.0 and Rs.20,000.0 respectively were awarded to first, second and third position holders. Director arts council, Muhammad Shakoor said the Rawalpindi Arts Council would continue promoting creative talent.
Shazia Rizwan also witnessed the artworks by the students and appreciated their creative skills. The event drew a large number of students, parents and teachers from across the city.
