KARACHI, Nov 05 (APP):The sixth day of the 39-day World Culture Festival 2025 was filled with vibrant performances, cultural exchanges, and artistic energy. The day featured three training workshops, two talks, five film screenings, and the much-anticipated French circus theatre play “Boucan,” which captivated audiences with its humor, creativity, and spectacular performances.
The day began with an art training workshop titled “IN AWE NATURE, RETHINK, REUSE, REDUCE, RECYCLE,” conducted by Swedish mural artist Dominika Forrest at ACAIC. She taught students innovative painting techniques, exploring creativity through color and light. President Arts Council Mohammad Ahmed Shah, Chairman Fine Art Committee Farrukh Tanveer Shahab, Shahid Rassam, Nazar Aslam, and other art community members attended. Students learned practical approaches to visual expression, exploring the relationship between color and emotion.
A special talk session titled “Beyond Borders” focused on dance and theatre as mediums of cross-cultural connection. The discussion featured Charlene Campbell (UK choreographer), Alina (Romania), Wendy Jehlen (USA), Jonah Katz (France), and Bienco Matrix (Congo), moderated by renowned Pakistani dancer Nighat Chaudhry.
Charlene Campbell shared, “Ballet Beyond Borders performs across the world—it wasn’t easy, but we made it happen.”
In another fine art session, Adrian Bojko from Argentina conducted a workshop teaching painting techniques. The President Arts Council, Mohammad Ahmed Shah, presented traditional Sindhi Ajraks to Domi Forrest, Adrian Bojko, Natalia, and Yaz as a token of cultural appreciation.
The Music Workshop featured Romanian artist Georgiana Costea Gluga, who introduced students to the art of Opera performance. The event was attended by Romanian Ambassador to Pakistan Dan Stoenescu, President Mohammad Ahmed Shah, and consulate officials. President Shah presented Ajraks to the dignitaries, while Ambassador Dan Stoenescu expressed his appreciation, saying, We are delighted to be part of the World Culture Festival. It’s wonderful to see how warmly Karachi audiences have embraced Opera music.
A special musical session by Scott Willson from the UK paid tribute to the melodies of the 1990s and to the legendary Pakistani singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, blending traditional qawwali rhythms with modern interpretations. The evening concluded with the French circus-theatre play “Boucan” presented by Crik Biz’Art, directed by Laurie Roger, Jonah Katz, and Remy Bombled. The French performers delivered a spectacular show, skillfully blending circus artistry with theatrical performance.
Using beatboxing to create diverse musical rhythms, the artists presented a lively, imaginative act that won the audience’s hearts. The performance, rich in humor, music, and expressive acting, received an overwhelming response from spectators. The hall resonated with applause as the audience celebrated the performers’ dynamic and entertaining display.
