FDA to extend full support for restoration of Adabi Baithak: DG

Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry has said that full support would be extended for the renovation and restoration of the literary forum (Adabi Baithak) affiliated with the Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad. 

FAISALABAD, Aug 07 (APP): Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry has said that full support would be extended for the renovation and restoration of the literary forum (Adabi Baithak) affiliated with the Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad.
He said that philanthropists, members of the business community, literary circles, and the wider community would be mobilized to support this initiative, as promoting literature, nurturing creative talent, and providing writers and intellectuals with a peaceful and conducive environment are essential for a progressive society.
He made these remarks while inspecting the Adabi Baithak during his visit to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium of the Arts Council.
Director Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad Maqbool Ahmad Malik, renowned poet and scholars Professor Dr. Jalal Arif, Dr. Jafar Hassan Mubarak, along with other distinguished literary, academic and cultural personalities were also present on this occasion.
DG FDA conducted a detailed review of the current condition of the “Adabi Baithak” and discussed various aspects of its renovation, provision of essential facilities, and modernization.
He said that support would be sought from philanthropists, business leaders with an interest in literature, and members of civil society to make the venue fully air-conditioned and equip it with high-quality and comfortable furniture, lighting, an efficient sound system, elegant interior décor and other necessary amenities so that it could become a model literary center for scholars and writers.
Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said that patronizing poets, writers, researchers, intellectuals, and creative minds is a fundamental responsibility of a civilized and enlightened society.
He added that Adabi Baithak would be transformed into a vibrant and dynamic platform where literary gatherings, mushairas (poetry recitals), intellectual dialogues, research discussions, book launch ceremonies, training workshops for emerging writers, and cultural events could be organized on a regular basis.
He further stated that, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab, all relevant institutions are working collaboratively to promote educational, literary and cultural activities.
The FDA, as part of its social responsibility, will continue to play an active role in supporting and promoting positive academic and cultural initiatives across the city.
The DG FDA reaffirmed his commitment that following its restoration, Adabi Baithak would be developed into a prestigious, vibrant, and attractive center for writers, researchers, students, and literature enthusiasts, providing the young generation with great opportunities to engage in reading, research, literature, and constructive intellectual traditions.
The distinguished literary personalities present on the occasion have appreciated the special interest and support extended by DG FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry for the restoration of Adabi Baithak, the provision of modern facilities and revival of its active role.
They expressed hope that this initiative would open a new chapter in the promotion of literary, academic and cultural activities in Faisalabad.
Director Punjab Council of Arts Faisalabad Maqbool Ahmad Malik thanked DG FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry for his support and said that the Punjab Arts Council is implementing a comprehensive and effective program for the promotion of fine arts, literature, and cultural heritage.
The restoration of the Adabi Baithak would prove to be a significant milestone in achieving these objectives, he added.
