KARACHI, Jan 04 (APP):The launching ceremony of the book “Treemat Katha”, authored by Dr Sadia Kamal, was held at the Karachi Press Club on Sunday.
Treemat Katha, which narrates the stories of women, is a unique literary work highlighting the social, professional and educational challenges faced by women in society. The book is based on Dr Sadia Kamal’s personal experiences as well as the observations and experiences of several working women who encounter difficulties while pursuing their careers and education.

Former Head of the Mass Communication Department at the Federal Urdu University, Prof Dr Tauseef Ahmed, presided over the ceremony, while writer and intellectual Usman Jami was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Tauseef Ahmed said the book effectively raises important issues faced by working women in their professional lives. He emphasized that men and women are equal, and society can only progress and achieve development when both are granted equal status and opportunities.
Touching upon cultural aspects, Prof Dr Tauseef Ahmed said that Sindh’s culture belongs to all people living in Karachi and other parts of the province. He categorically stated that there is no separate “Mohajir culture,” adding that Urdu-speaking people are an integral part of Sindh’s cultural fabric.
Author Dr Sadia Kamal said that the book is the result of ten years of research and that many individuals supported her in completing this work. She expressed pride that the first launching ceremony of her book was held in Sindh, the land of great Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. She also thanked all those who assisted her during the research process and shared that she has studied literature in Urdu, Sindhi, Balochi and Pashto languages.
Writers and intellectuals including Usman Jami, Qazi Asif, Mehboob Tabish, Dr Jaipal Chhabria, Nasreen Gul, Khursheed Anjum and others also spoke on the occasion.
