ISLAMABAD, Sep 9 (APP):A two-day Pakistan Festival and Global Village concluded here at National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage Lok Virsa on Sunday with colorful performances of the local artists.
The two-day cultural event was organized by Sakafat Art Center in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
Head of Sakafat Art Forum Dr Momina Khayal said that various colourful cultural activities were arranged during two days event.
A large number of people visited the festival and enjoyed the cultural performances, traditional and international foods at food court.
During festival, the local artists also entertained the visitors with their performances and got big applause from the audience.
Musical evening was also arranged along with an array of cultural displays, theatre and a milieu of colourful performances.
The visitors enjoyed shopping, culture and traditional food in the festival.
The festival was aimed to entertain and provide an opportunity to the people of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to continue celebrations of Independence Day with National enthusiasm and spirit. During festival beautiful colours and culture of the country was celebrated.
A Syrian food stall owner Hussam told APP that it’s was really amazing experience to be part of Pakistan Festival and Global village.
He said that the people response was really very fantastic and they enjoyed a lot to be part of two days event.
The food court set up at the premises of festival also attracted a large number of people.
A stall owner also carried a campaign ‘Say No to Plastic Bag’ said that he want to highlight few serious problems that we are facing and will continue to face in future due to use of plastic bags.
He said that according to researchers; plastic bags get into the soil and slowly release toxic chemicals. Moreover, Plastic products and plastic bags are creating pollution which is the serious health hazard” he said.
He said that his campaign aimed to create awareness among the people regarding hazards of plastic bags, adding that he displayed cloth bags produced by rural women which are the best alternative option with us to follow healthy life style.
