ISLAMABAD, Aug 11 (APP): The preparations for Azadi celebrations by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) are in full swing.
Different colourful activities in this context are being organized all over the city, said a press release issued by CDA on Thursday.
In this context Table Tennis Tournament, has been started at Hamidi Hall of the Sports Complex. Renowned players from all parts of the country are participating in the tournament.
This tournament will be concluded on August 12, 2016. In connection with Azadi celebrations, Young Award Show is being also organized at Pak China Friendship Centre.
Arrangements of Azadi Mela, being organized at Fatima Jinnah Park (F-9) from August 12, 2016 to August 14, 2016 have been also finalized.
During the three day Azadi Mela different stalls will be installed in addition to musical and cultural shows.
Furthermore, Azadi Tourist Train from F-9 Park to Lakeview Park will also operate August 13 and August 14, 2016.
Birds Show at Lakeview Park has also been planned on August 13 and August 14, 2016. Moreover, in order to highlight rich culture of Pakistan, a cultural show will be also organized at Arts and Craft Village. Artists from all over the country will perform during this show.
In the meanwhile on the directions of Mayor Islamabad, Sheikh Ansar Aziz, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad has organized Fire Work demonstration on night 13/14 August at Multipurpose Parade Ground Islamabad.
People from the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are expected to participate in the event at large.
