ISLAMABAD, Feb 20 (APP):The Cine Club of Alliance Francaise and Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) screened French movie “Jalouse” here late Wednesday featuring human jealousy in a thought provoking way.
The film revolves around the story of an elegant literature professor who becomes bitterly jealous of her daughter’s youth and beauty. As her newfound jealousy spirals out of control, friends, neighbors and colleagues become the target of her sour grapes.
Jalouse is a 2017 French comedy film directed by David and Stéphane Foenkinos.
Almost overnight, Nathalie Pêcheux, a divorced French teacher, changes from a loving mother into a jealous monster. Her first target is her stunning 18-year-old daughter Mathilde, a ballet dancer, but her field of attack soon extends to her friends, colleagues, and even her neighbors.
After the success of their film Delicacy, author and screenwriter David Foenkinos pairs up again with his brother Stéphane Foenkinos to portray a woman’s radical and unexpected shift of character that oscillates between black comedy and psychological thriller.
The film screening was part of regular activities of PNCA as every month such film screenings were held at PNCA featuring culture and traditions of different countries to involve the audience of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad in healthy activities as well as understand the cultural values of other communities, said the organizers.
