ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP): National Book Foundation (NBF) as part of steps to promote books reading, has introduced e-Book scheme to facilitate readers.
Under the scheme, the Foundation has specially created an e-Book section on its website for the purpose.
An official at NBF on Wednesday told APP that the initiative has been taken as per directions of Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Division, Irfan Siddiqui The official said Managing Director NBF, Prof. Dr. Inamul Haq Javeid is also keen in promoting the book culture among readers as some schemes have been and were being introduced to promote reading.
He said NBF would also upload its fresh publication on website and introduce new shemes to ensure availability of books.
Replying to a question, the official said e-book trend was gaining popularity among readers as advance technology ensures ease and comfort.
He said this new initiative would be fruitful as the readers would be able to have access to all important publications with one click on website.
