Lok Virsa starts work on restoration of a carved wooden door

ISLAMABAD, Jan 3 (APP):Lok Virsa Mandwa Film Club would organize screening of film “Dupatta” from the early golden era of Pakistani Cinema 1950s January 6.
The film 1952, “Dupatta” was produced by Aslam Lodhi and Directed by S. Fazli. The cost of the film was stars Noor Jehan, Ajay Kumar, Sudhir, Yasmin, and Ghulam Muhammad.
The film narrates the story of a romance in the time of war with Noor Jehan playing the lead role of a young village girl named “Bulbul” who falls in love with Ajay Kumar’s character named “Roshan”.
Together, they go against all odds to marry only to lose their precious new world to the World War which breaks soon after.
Sudhir’s character simply named “Doctor” enters at this point and the audience witnesses a new but reluctant romance brewing between the characters Bulbul and Doctor until a final twist is served towards the end of the film.
“Dupatta” is a beloved classic for many reasons including the sensitive handling of the subject, a fine display of acting and timeless melodies such as Baat hi baat mein, Main ban patang ud jaaoon re, Saanwariya koi tohe pukaare and most popular of all Chaandni raatein.
