ISLAMABAD, Sep 3 (APP):Junaid Jamshed, the iconic Pakistani pop star-turned-religious scholar, was remembered across the country on Thursday, marking his 62nd birth anniversary.
Born in Karachi on September 3, 1964, Jamshed rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of Vital Signs and earned nationwide acclaim with the iconic song “Dil Dil Pakistan,” which continues to resonate with generations of music lovers.
In 2004, Jamshed began reciting naats on television and released several religious albums, including Jalwa-e-Janan (2005), Mehboob-e-Yazdaan (2006), Badr-Ud-Duja (2008) and Badeeuz Zaman (2009).
Jamshed also expanded his creative pursuits by establishing his own clothing brand.
He died on December 7, 2016, in a plane crash while travelling from Chitral to Islamabad, leaving behind a lasting legacy that continues to inspire generations.
