Improv theater comedy night for fun lovers on April 21

ISLAMABAD, Apr 17 (APP):Improv Shimprov, a fresh episode of an Urdu improvisational show by Theatre Wallay will entertain the fun lovers of twin-cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad with comedy theatre here on April 21.

Improvisational theatre, also called improv, is almost always comedic in nature. All scenes created on stage are unplanned and unscripted as the performers collaboratively create a story and scene spontaneously.

In the performance titled “Improv Shimprov II”, the performers will also create scenes based on audience suggestions involving audience in healthy activities that include laughter and ideas sharing.

The show has been dedicated to Improv Guru – Jim Robinson – who came to Pakistan twice and conducted training sessions for Theatre Wallay team. The performers will show him how they are practicing what they learnt from Jim Robinson, this fresh episode has fresh and trained team. Audience are not just spectators, but active participants in this wonderful fun-filled show, said the organizers.

Theatre Wallay is a non-commercial group of artists with a passion for theatre and literature. Active in Islamabad since 2005, Theatre Wallay has put up many performances of plays hailing from world literature.

The group is also involved in ‘Theatre for Social Change’ projects and works to promote the use of creative expression as a tool for empowerment and critical dialogue. “To this end, we conduct regular workshops, readings, trainings and other activities in partnership with local and international organisations. We also conduct theatre education programmes and workshops with students of all ages. Since November 2016, our team has been running a not-for-profit cultural space and community centre,” said the organizers.

The event aims at bringing quality event for entertainment and discourse to the twin cities.
