Govt taking all necessary steps to spread message of Allama Iqbal: Irfan Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (APP): Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Wednesday said the government would take all necessary steps to spread the message of Allama Iqbal among the youth.
He was addressing a function in connection with the birth anniversary of the national poet Allama Iqbal, organized by Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC) here at Aiwan-e-Quaid.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said Iqbal’s poetry have the capacity to play a positive role in the lives of youth.
Irfan Siddiqui said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal was a true follower of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and his poetry was based on the teachings of Islam.
He said that Allama Iqbal inspired millions of Muslims through his creative writings and inculcated hope among them about future.
Advisor to Prime Minister urged the nation specially the youth to seek guidance from the teachings of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in order to make the country peaceful and prosperous.
He said that the message of Allama Iqbal was based on thinking, hard work and struggle.
He said that it was honour for him to be a part of today’s function on birth anniversary of great poet and scholar.
He said efforts were in progress for preserving the literary heritage for our coming generations.
Irfan Siddiqui also paid tribute to late Zahid Malik, Patron in Chief of NPC and prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace.
Senator S.M Zaffar delivered a lecture highlighting the poetry and philosophy of Allama Iqbal.
He paid tribute to the literary contributions of Allama Iqbal and urged the youth to get guidance from his poetry.
He said that more steps should be taken to promote Allama Iqbal’s work for the evolution of a peaceful society.
Earlier, Chairman NPC Dr Naeem Ghani welcomed the participants in the function. He said that NPC would continue its efforts to spread the message of national leaders like Allama Iqbal and Quaid Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that there is dire need to follow the teachings of Allama Iqbal for the better future of the country.
A large number of people belonging to different walks of life including students of the institutions of Rawalpindi and Islamabad attended the seminar.
Later, special prayers were also offered for the progress and prosperity of the country and particularly for the departed soul of late Zahid Malik.
