ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (APP): Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Dedov Tuesday inaugurated first solo painting exhibition of Yuri Kozlov, Trade Representative of Russian Federation Islamabad, Pakistan at Art Gallery of University of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, (CIIT).
The exhibition was jointly organized by Association of Pakistan Graduates from Russia and CIS & CIIT.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Yuri Kozlov explained that the way he works with oil on canvas. His strokes are very strong and color palate is bright.
Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Dedov said that Pakistan and Russia have witnessed breakthrough in bilateral relations in 2015. Pakistan and Russia were now moving towards improved relations and cooperation in various areas was the priority of both counties.
On this occasion Senator Sehar Kamran welcomed improvement in Pak-Russia relations and termed that current trajectories of bilateral relations are satisfactory.
“Cultural activities are helpful to understand each other” she said. She appreciated the efforts by CIIT for their educational contributions.
Engr. Iftikhar Ali, General Secretary of APGR &CIS, in his speech briefed the participant on the aims of the association, COMSATS institute contribution to the education in Pakistan and work of Kozlov who have done this tremendous work.
COMSATS is working for the Visual Arts field from years and giving the horizon to the Art professionals and students for expression.
The Rector COMSATS University, Dr. S.M. Junaid Zaidi has provided a platform for support of art and culture for other budding and senior artists in Islamabad.
In the continuation of the promotion of Art and interaction with the artist community, the COMSATS Gallery has now showing Solo Show by a Russian Artist.
The Head of International Office Dr.Arshad Salim Malik and Rector CIIT, Dr.S.M.Junaid Zaidi shared his views with the Chief Guest, Alex Dedov, regarding the COMSATS University and its overall seven flourishing campuses in Pakistan.
Later, while proceeding towards the Gallery Farrah Mahmood, Curator of COMSATS Art Gallery expressed the efforts for the promotion of art and culture, and valuable contributions by the CIIT officials in this regard.
This is the first solo exhibition which is a retrospective show COMSATS gallery is glad news for those, who want to see new horizons in works of our modern Pakistani artists, as his works are mixture of Russian aesthetics and local ensibilities.
The Ambassador of the Russian federation Alexey Dedov, the artist Yuri Kozlov, Dr. Arshad Malik, head of IO at CIIT appreciated the efforts of the Curator of CAG, Farrah and all organizers of the, event Dr. Shahid Hassan, engr. Iftikhar Ali, with the constants team.
