Classical maestro ' Ustad Amanat Ali ' Khan remembered on 45th death anniversary

ISLAMABAD, Sep 17 (APP):Legendary classical singer Ustad Amanat Ali Khan was remembered on his 45th death anniversary on Tuesday.

The Chand Meri Zameen singer was born in 1922 in Hoshiarpur, now in Indian Punjab. He was the grandson of Ali Baksh Jarnail, who was the founder of the Patiala Gharana.

However, after the creation of Pakistan, Khan’s family migrated to Lahore. Following in their tracks, Ustad Amanat learnt the art of music from his elders. According to them, the late artist was always interested in classical, ghazal singing.
