SIALKOT, Oct 02 (APP): Founding President Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sialkot (WCCIS) Dr Mariam Siddiqa and Senior Vice President Nadia Qaiser have underscored the need to strengthen opportunities, market linkages, social protection and decent working conditions for women home-based workers.
They expressed these views while attending a seminar titled “The Need and Importance of Protection and Promotion of Woman Home-Based Workers,” organised by Baidarie.
Dr. Mariam Siddiqa and Nadia Qaiser stressed the significant contribution of woman home-based workers to household incomes and the broader economy, stressing the importance of supporting and empowering them through better economic opportunities and protection mechanisms.
The seminar highlighted the challenges faced by women working from home and the need for initiatives that improve their access to markets, strengthen social protection and promote decent working conditions.
WCCIS appreciated Baidarie’s efforts to raise awareness and promote initiatives aimed at protecting and supporting women home-based workers.
